Hi Guys! Happy Tuesday!
I’ve been looking forward to writing this post for quite a while. I’ve never really gotten into my hobby of photography, or shared any of the photos I’ve taken. I’m excited to share an unknown secret of mine and show you some today!
I’ve always had a love for photography. I would BEG my mom to buy me disposable cameras, I’d snap away, and then beg for her to develop them. Fast forward to 2017, and I’m so very thankful I have these physical photographs in my (multitude) of albums. These photographs are my most treasured possessions, and to this day the material item I’d save first in a fire. 🙂
For years, I’ve been wanting a “nice” camera. I’d looked at Canon and Nikon for years and drooled over the photos they take. Unfortunately, these “nice” cameras come with quite the price tag, which at the time I wasn’t looking to spend on myself.
For this past Christmas, my boyfriend completely surprised me, and got me a Canon Rebel camera and an extra zoom lens to go with it! We were due to fly out to California December 1st, so he gave it to me a few days before knowing I’d want to photograph (every second of) our trip… 😉
This is the one he got me – Canon Rebel T6 bundle package anddddd.. link here.
Y’all… I can’t even explain the excitement.
California was the most unbelievable place to experiment with this camera. Seeing as we went in December and this was off season, I had desolate landscapes to photograph without the masses of tourists.
Here are some of my favorite shots from Cali!
Here are a couple from my recent Florida trip…
some from my Maine trip last week…
practicing the “bokeh” effect…
These are my favorites I’ve taken of the littles in my life 🙂 ❤
I’ve discovered that I have an absolute love for lighting and the way it can change a photograph. The sunsets in California and the photographs I’ve captured there are some of the most unbelievable things I’ve ever seen. Sometimes I can’t believe the photos came from my own camera.
Another little secret that I have is my photography instagram account. I wanted a way to share my pictures, simply because I found them so beautiful and wanted others to enjoy the beauty. Only a select few close friends know of my love affair with photography, so I’ve only shared this account with a couple people. I’m not ready yet to call myself a ‘photographer’, but I’m learning and hope to one day make this something amazing.
If you wanted to check out more photos shot by me, or even just enjoy some wanderlust via social media 😛 .. follow my instagram account 🙂 I’ve got photos from NY to LA 😉
So now my blogger friends know something about me that a lot of people in my daily life don’t know (yet) ! I’m still learning A LOT and if anyone has any tips or recommendations for programs, apps for editing, or anything in general… please share! ❤
